My statement on generated art

The current influx of AI generated images flooding the digital arts industry has made it extremely difficult for real artists to make a living. Their generation models are also trained on copyrighted art without the consent of the original creator, in order to reproduce it on demand to anyone who asks for it. This is why, despite the convenience and instant gratification it provides, I consider it plagiarism to use in a commercial setting.

I believe that it is beneficial for me to share my own creation process, in order to differentiate my art and its value from the sea of lifeless, meaningless pixel arrangements we’ve gotten so used to seeing on our feeds.

On top of that, I hope that sharing the steps I have taken to make some of my pieces will inspire others who think that creating original art is too far out of their skill range. A lot of my digital creation process is playing around with settings, sliders and colour until I find something that I like looking at.

It is simpler and more accessible than you think. It is enjoyable, it is satisfying.

You can do it too.

BEHIND THE SCENES

BEFORE & AFTERS

Raw images VS final results, after playing with my silly little settings in my silly little image editing software.

There are free alternatives to photoshop and lightroom available.
All you need to start is a camera, a subject to point it at, and a basic understanding of composition.
You can fix the rest later.

to the professional photographers, forgive me

And to clarify for everyone else, this is for personal artistic expression.
I am not suggesting people take their own wedding or gig photos - you should definitely hire a professional for that.
People who know a lot more than me about their craft deserve your business.
